Leaving from the pier in Alesund your coach will take you through green scenery along Storfjorden. Your first stop will be the
medieval Stordal Church, known for its interior rose paintings and fresco decorations.
We continue to Liabygd, arrive at Valldal - known for strawberry production, and follow the valley towards Trollstigen - Troll
Path, passing the impressing Gudbrandsjuvet Gorge, 16 feet wide and 80 feet deep with a foaming river at the bottom. At 2.500
feet above sea level, surrounded by dramatically shaped mountain peaks, you will be served your lunch at the Trollstigen
Fjellstue. From the restaurant and the close-by viewpoint you can enjoy the stunning view.
From the highest point of the road (852m a.s.l.) you drive down Trollstigen - Troll Path - with its 11 hair-pin bends to Isterdalen
Valley. You will cross the Stigfoss Waterfall with a drop of 585 feet. Needle-sharp peaks thrust their way 600 feet skywards.
Soon you reach the bottom of the valley, surrounded by wonderful mountains with majestic names, such as The King, The
Queen and The Bishop. The drive then takes you through lush vegetation to Andalsnes, a charming village, and further along
the Romsdalsfjord. You follow the river up the Romsdalen valley to see the highest vertical mountain wall in Europe - the Troll
Wall, 1500 ft high. Before 1965 no-one believed that is was possible for a human being to climb the vertical face of the Troll
Wall. In 1965 a Norwegian and an English climbing team proved otherwise. It took them 14 days to reach the top, climbing
different routes. Since then various routes have been climbed, the routes are often given names after the first ascendents.
Return to alesund passing picturesque villages along the fjord.
Note: This tour is not recommended for guests who have difficulties climbing and/or managing steps. Possible for guests who
are wheelchair confined. Guests must be able to walk 300-400 yards over asphalt roads to reach the various sites, additionally
600-700 yards to reach Trollstigen Viewpoint. Comfortable walking shoes and a light jacket are recommended.
